BATELLA'S DREAM
One day, just as dawn was breaking to Strut the rooster's early morning call, the whole
of Puddle Town was in for a big surprise. Mysty the unicorn was there in the center of the town for all to see, with a new rainbow colored main and tail. All the townsfolk thought she was more beautiful than ever, and everybody talked about nothing else for the next week. That is everybody except Batella the Bat.
Poor Batella, nobody seemed to notice him. For one thing, Batella spent most of his days asleep, doing his flying at night, and he was just a dull brown color.
At the end of the week, Mysty was going back to her stable, when she heard a faint sobbing, coming from the branches of the tree.
"Why Batella." she said when she had found out where the crying was coming from, "Whatever is the matter?"
Batella told Mysty in between sobs, how upset she was, and how she wished she could be as beautiful as Mysty.
Mysty gave a smile "Why Batella, is that all that is wrong, you've forget, I am a unicorn and can do magic"
Suddenly Mysty's horn started to shine brightly, and Batella felt a strange feeling running through her body.
The next morning, nobody could believe the beautiful bird they saw flying around Puddle Town. But it wasn't Sky the bluebird, or Robin the redbreast, it was Batella in her new magic color.
